Possible Extinction Level Event Underway In Gulf Of Mexico

Posted on July 11, 2010 | Filed Under Breaking News, Oil Disaster | Leave a Comment

The Extinction Level Event currently unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico will destroy all life in the Gulf States then slowly spread around the globe poisoning and burning everything in it’s path.

BP’s breech of a massive ancient methane reserve set in motion an unstoppable out gassing of explosive gas that will destroy the Gulf States in a massive fireball then rise into the atmosphere increasing global temperatures eventually killing off most plant and animal life on earth.

The United States Navy’s evacuation of the Gulf and FEMA buses being staged in most gulf cities point to the explosion scenario. Add the fact that BP is not cleaning up the oil and has demanded first evacuation rights for its people you can only come to one conclusion.

The Gulf States are doomed.

Ominous reports are leaking past the BP Gulf salvage operation news blackout that the disaster unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico may be about to reach biblical proportions.

251 million years ago a mammoth undersea methane bubble caused massive explosions, poisoned the atmosphere and destroyed more than 96 percent of all life on Earth. Experts agree that what is known as the Permian extinction event was the greatest mass extinction event in the history of the world.

55 million years later another methane bubble ruptured causing more mass extinctions during the Late Paleocene Thermal Maximum (LPTM). The LPTM lasted 100,000 years.

Those subterranean seas of methane virtually reshaped the planet when they explosively blew from deep beneath the waters of what is today called the Gulf of Mexico.

Now, worried scientists are increasingly concerned the same series of catastrophic events that led to worldwide death back then may be happening again-and no known technology can stop it.

The bottom line: BP’s Deepwater Horizon drilling operation may have triggered an irreversible, cascading geological Apocalypse that will culminate with the first mass extinction of life on Earth in many millions of years.

The oil giant drilled down miles into a geologically unstable region and may have set the stage for the eventual premature release of a methane mega-bubble.

The warning signs of an impending planetary catastrophe—of such great magnitude that the human mind has difficulty grasping it-would be the appearance of large fissures or rifts splitting open the ocean floor, a rise in the elevation of the seabed, and the massive venting of methane and other gases into the surrounding water.

Such occurrences can lead to the rupture of the methane bubble containment—it can then permit the methane to breach the subterranean depths and undergo an explosive decompression as it catapults into the Gulf waters.

All three warning signs are documented to be occurring in the Gulf.

If you live in the gulf region consider evacuation. Do not wait for government notification. The government has no intention of implementing mass evacuating only a small group will be saved from each city.

Massive Amounts Of Tar balls Cover Cocoa Beach And Cape Canaveral On The East Coast Of Central Florida

Posted by Alexander Higgins – July 8, 2010 at 1:31 pm – Permalink Tarballs Hit Cocoa Beach Florida

Massive amounts of tarballs are now hammering the Atlantic Coast of Florida and have left a large portion of Cocoa Beach in Central Florida literally covered in tarballs.

Meanwhile local Government officials have taken a move straight from the Pensacola Beach playbook and are already misleading the public into thinking that the beaches are safe.

Mellisa Cones, director of the the Cocoa Beach Chamber of Commerce, attempts to assure the public that the tarballs are not from the BP Gulf Oil Spill by saying “it’s just to thick to be coming from the west coast”.

There are no signs of life 50 miles from the disaster site except for a couple of undoubtedly hungry sharks. What should be crystal clear blue water is now a murky green sludge. While what seems like half of the population is hypnotized into believing that Government take-over from the Obama administration is the threat, the obvious reality of Corporate dominance over Government is hemorrhaging into the ocean at a rate of up to 100,000 barrels (4,200,000 gallons) a day.

EPA finally relases COREXIT ingredient list

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has quietly released the list of ingredients of the chemical dispersant being pumped into the Gulf of Mexico by British Petroleum.  The release came following weeks of complaints from Congress and the public about the secrecy behind the more than one million gallons of dispersant which has been pumped into the Gulf to date.  BP is pumping 15,000 gallons a day of the patented chemical brews known as COREXIT 9500 AND COREXIT 9527 into the Gulf of Mexico.

The ingredient list appeared on the section of the EPA website dedicated to the oil “spill” (more like a volcano) at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico 50 miles offshore the coast of Louisiana.

The list includes 1,2-Propanediol ;  2-butoxy-ethanol ; 2-sulfo-Butanedioic acid, 1,4-bis(2-ethylhexyl) ester, sodium salt (1:1); Sorbitan, mono-(9Z)-9-octadecenoate; Sorbitan, mono-(9Z)-9-octadecenoate, poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl) derivss.; Sorbitan, tri-(9Z)-9-octadecenoate, poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl) derivs; 2-Propanol, 1-(2-butoxy-1-methylethoxy)- ;  and Distillates (petroleum), hydrotreated light.

Although some ingredients in the list had been publicly know, others, including the sodium salts were not.

Nalco, the company which manufactures COREXIT, responded by posting a list of “common day-to-day” uses of the chemicals in question.  That list includes skin cream, body shampoo, emulsifier in juice, Baby bath, mouth wash, face lotion, emulsifier in food, Body/Face lotion, tanning lotions, Wetting agent in cosmetic products, gelatin, beverages, Household cleaning products, Air fresheners.

The independent watchdog group OMBWatch cites the New Jersey Department of Health to point out possible dangers of one of the the ingredients.  The document indicates 2-butoxy-ethanol:  “may be absorbed through the skin; should be handled as a CARCINOGEN–WITH EXTREME CAUTION; can irritate the skin and eyes with possible eye damage; can irritate the nose and throat; can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. can cause headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, and passing out and may damage the liver and kidneys.”

The dispersant is widely considered more dangerous to human health than the oil itself, and several clean-up workers exposed to the dispersant have been reported as coming down with health problems.

Regardless of whether the Deepwater Horizon Disaster is an accident or a False Flag Event, the inescapable truth is that the United States is faced with a disaster of unprecedented proportions. The quantity of oil being released into the Gulf of Mexico is uncertain, although it is safe to say that it is in the millions of gallons and covers thousands of square miles.

The purpose of this article is to inform, educate and warn the reader of what is probably about to take place, and what steps might be taken to deal with this emergency as it may develop over the next few weeks and months .

The statements within this article are factual, but by no means complete, and there will be updates when possible. One thing is for certain, the Gulf of Mexico region now contains millions of gallons of oil that IS going to spread to other parts of the Gulf of Mexico as well as along the East Coast of the United States.

Brazil’s Oil Spill 10 Years Later: A Tragic Preview Of The Gulf’s Fate? (VIDEO)

Huffington Post Posted: 07- 9-10 04:05 PM

Al Jazeera’s Gabriel Elizondo reports from Brazil, where a decade has passed since the country’s largest oil spill in Guanabara Bay, outside Rio de Janeiro. In 2000, almost 350,000 gallons of oil leaked from Petrobras’ underwater pipeline, devastating delicate mangrove ecosystems and destroying local habitat. At the time, the Brazilian government said the area would recover after 10 years, but as seen by the large areas of thick black mud and lifeless soil, this is hardly the case.

A local fisherman who has been working the bay his entire life describes how plentiful the crabs and fish were before the spill. But now the crabs don’t live there anymore, there is much less fish, and there are even certain fish that can’t be found any longer.

Even at the most conservative estimates, the total oil spill in Brazil’s Guanabara Bay was only 25% of the amount leaking daily into the Gulf of Mexico. The local Brazilian fisherman fears for the livelihood of those fisherman in the Gulf, “If someone does not help them, it’s going to be impossible for them to support their families.”

Stop the Use of Dispersants in the Gulf

Target:
U.S. Congress
Since the Deepwater Horizon exploded on April 20nd BP has dumped over a million gallons of Corexit dispersant into the Gulf of Mexico.  Corexit dramatically increases the toxicity of crude oil to aquatic life. The EPA has acted with reckless disregard for the evidence by allowing BP to continue this unsafe and ineffective practice.Research clearly demonstrates that dispersants are extremely toxic, and that instead of mitigating the damage caused by the oil spill, they amplify the absorption of deadly hydrocarbons into plant and animal life.Furthermore, dispersants do not enhance the biodegradation of crude oil. To the contrary, they prevent surface accumulation of crude oil by accelerating its diffusion into the water column where it will do the most short term and long term damage. This approach is fueled by a desire to mitigate not the damage to the environment, but the “image” of those who are responsible for the disaster.

Dispersants also pose an immediate health threat to disaster relief workers and residents in the region, as they adversely affect the air quality by entering wind currents and by accelerating the evaporation of other toxic compounds from the crude oil.

Learn more about dispersants here http://oilspilltruth.wordpress.com/dispersants/

Elected officials must protect the Gulf of Mexico and Americans who make it their home. Tell Congress to halt the use of dangerous dispersants and employ less harmful and more effective methods of disaster mitigation.

Corexit and Oil Eating Through Boat Hulls and Kidneys Says G4

Dear NaturalNews readers,

It seems downright spooky that on the weekend when the USA is about to celebrate Independence Day — the July 4th holiday that commemorates freedom from tyranny — we are bringing you a disturbing report on how the U.S. Coast Guard, under the direction of the Obama administration, has suspended the First Amendment in the Gulf of Mexico.

Free Speech is now illegal on the beaches of the Gulf Coast. Any reporter, photographer or blogger caught within 65 feet of an oil spill boom, vessel or cleanup operation will be arrested, fined as much as $40,000 and prosecuted with a Class F felony crime by the U.S. government.

I’m not making this up. This is your “Independence Day” gift from the Obama administration, which once promised “transparency” in Gulf cleanup operations.

Read my complete story on this Orwellian censorship by the U.S. government: http://www.naturalnews.com/029130_Gulf_of_Mexico_censorship.html
Speaking of the big Gulf Coast cover-up, here’s another story on what the mainstream media isn’t reporting:
http://www.naturalnews.com/029127_Gulf_Coast_cleanup.html
At the same time all this is going on, new research concludes that the world’s oil supplies are running out faster than expected. Is is true, or just more propaganda? You decide:

Ethan Huff reports on these latest environmental crimes by British Petroleum:
http://www.naturalnews.com/029074_sea_turtles_Gulf_of_Mexico.html

Late Friday afternoon, Unified Area Command (UAC) in charge of the oil disaster response announced that sea turtle observers will be trained to accompany oil burn and skimmer fleet operations.

This is a great first step. But, our alert calls for more than that, including:

  • Independent third party monitoring;
  • Appropriate intervention; and
  • Transparent public reporting of ALL protected species in harms way, from the oil slick and response operations.

Please sign on today, and we will be sure to deliver this message to those in charge of oil response operations on both land and water.

More Background

News accounts over the last couple of weeks suggest that sea turtles and other protected species may be victims of sea-surface oil burning, skimming, or other efforts to control the oil spill.

In addition, many animals exposed to oil at sea will die by drowning or poisoning without ever being counted.

We can find no official public record of the numbers of animals being caught up in the oil slick or injured during response efforts. Current wildlife casualty reports only include the captured and collected animals, not those animals exposed to oil and left to die in the wild.

Under pressure from wildlife organizations, the UAC announced that sea turtle observers will be trained and sent out on oil burn and skimmer fleet operations. According to the UAC:

“In offshore waters, both free-floating patches of sargassum seaweed and spilled oil tend to accumulate in convergence zones, places in the ocean where strong opposing currents meet. Sea turtles, especially juveniles, use these areas for food and cover. Burn operations sometimes occur there because of the aggregated oil.”

Training sea turtle observers to be sent out on oil response vessels is a great first step. But more needs to be done to ensure proper monitoring, reporting and appropriate intervention to protect Gulf wildlife in harm’s way.

Fall migration is about to begin for millions of migratory birds that will be headed straight for the oil on Gulf shorelines and open water. We cannot afford to look away now.

Roffs BP Gulf Oil Spill Tracking Map For June 22 2010
I recently wrote that oil from the BP Gulf Oil Spill may be as far north as North Carolina based on satellite data and reports of oil off the Florida keys reported June 9th by a University of South Florida professor.

The Federal Government however appears to be complacent with continuing to hide the location of the spill from the public.

The misleading of the public about the safety of public beaches and the location of the oil is even causing an uproar by local Florida residents.

The Jacksonville Business Journal Reports that NOAA claims the Florida Keys and South Florida may escape the BP Gulf Oil Spill:

Oil spilled in the Gulf of Mexico now appears less certain to slime the Florida Keys and South Florida.

About a month after the BP PLC spill disaster began on April 20, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said that a portion of the oil in the Gulf of Mexico had reached the Loop Current, which could bring it across the Florida Keys and to South Florida.

On Monday, however, NOAA stopped producing trajectory maps on its website that showed oil entering the Loop Current.

“The offshore trajectory maps … have been temporarily suspended because the northern end of the Loop Current has been pinched off into a large eddy (Eddy Franklin) so there is no clear path for oil to enter the Loop Current from the source,” a NOAA news release said. “Also, there have been no reports of recoverable oil in the Loop Current or Eddy Franklin, and the oil has moved to the north and away from the Eddy Franklin.”

NOAA said it would resume producing trajectory maps when the threat to the Keys increases. Meanwhile, the agency said it would continue to monitor the threat with aerial surveillance, vessel surveillance and satellites.

As in previous cases where independent monitoring of the BP Gulf Oil Spill has shown oil out side of the areas officially reported by NOAA it appears that this is the case once again.

Take for example the ROFFS project which uses a combination of methods to monitor the spread of the BP Gulf Oil Spill.

ROFFS™ Oil Oceanographic Analyses we have been monitoring the surface, as well as the suspected and apparent subsurface oil-water-dispersant mixture from satellite data derived from NOAA_AVHRR and Metop_A – AVHRR (infrared), MODIS (infrared, ocean color, and RGB) and MERIS (ocean color and visible) sensors, as well as synthetic aperture radar (SAR) with a variety of resolutions and spectra). We also use on-site reports from fishermen, other vessels of opportunity, and researchers (academic and government). We track the water-oil-dispersant mixture that originated from the Deepwater Horizon well site from the first day of the spill by following the water masses that originated from the spill site.

Time and again ROFFS monitoring has shown oil outside of Government reported locations and the project continues to do a much better job of tracking the BP Gulf Oil Spill than the Federal Government in hopes they will be awarded a contract to monitor the spill.  Read more…

USF official: Traces of oil within few miles of Jacksonville

by Rob Shaw
Tampa Bay Online
updated 6/23/2010 7:22:31 PM ET

Traces of oil from the gusher in the Gulf of Mexico have traveled all the way to within a few miles of the Jacksonville and Cuba coastlines, a University of South Florida official said this morning.

“Some of the tar balls may start showing up on the east coast as far as Jacksonville,” Bill Hogarth, dean of the College of Marine Science at USF, told members of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association in a telephone conference call.

Satellite imagery interpreted by researchers at USF shows that the oil continues to be a part of the loop current, the conveyor belt of water that dips from the Gulf and into the Florida Straits before traveling up the east coast as part of the Gulf Stream.

As the oil continues to spew a mile underwater and the calendar gets deeper into hurricane season, the cause for concern about potential impact on Florida grows, Hogarth said.
