USS Makin Island

USS Makin Island

Scott Oliver – July 2010

On the 2nd July 2010 the Costa Rica Congress authorized the entry of 46 U.S. warships capable of carrying 200 helicopters and warplanes, plus 7,000 U.S. Marines “who may circulate the country in uniform without any restrictions” , plus submarine killer ships to the Costa Rican coast for “anti-narcotics operations and humanitarian missions’ between 1st July 2010 until 31st December 2010.

With this kind of nation destroying firepower, it gives real meaning to the expression “war on drugs”, but if this a real six month “war on drugs” we should expect to see some fantastic results, right?

Politicians representing the Acción Ciudadana (PAC), the Unidad Social Cristiana (PUSC) and the Frente Amplio (FA) political parties opposed the measure saying that the destructive force of the ships, helicopters and 7,000 US Marines is “disproportionate for the fight against drug trafficking.”

On Sunday, the President of Costa Rica Laura Chinchilla said that the government does not intend to militarize the fight against drugs and the Minister of Public Security Jose Maria Tijerino stressed that this huge, powerful military force would be under the command of the US Coast Guard and not the US Navy.

Although I don’t suppose the Costa Ricans, the drug traffickers or we expats will notice the difference…

Another despicable US crime in Iraq banned on tape

After preparing controlled explosion of IED, US soldiers – instead of warning an Iraqi woman moving straight in direction of the IED – the US soldiers joke and mock around about her (the woman) going to be blown up within the next seconds. And then they trigger the IED directly in front of the woman, and start sick laughing !

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is reportedly “outraged” after security guards at a New Orleans-area hospital were accused of punching and tasing his epileptic nephew, a news report states.

Derek Thomas was admitted to West Jefferson Hospital in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, Thursday, after a possible suicide attempt, reports ABC affiliate WGNO.

When the Supreme Court justice’s nephew refused to put on a hospital gown and said he wanted to leave the hospital, doctors ordered security to restrain him.

Security guards “punched him in his lip, pulled out more than a fistful of his dreadlocks and tasered him to restrain him,” a statement from Thomas’ family said.

Shortly afterwards, family members say, Thomas suffered a “massive epileptic seizure.”  Read more…

Charlie Veitch on G20 Arrests (1/3)

Charlie Veitch of the Love Police joins us once again to give his account of the incidents at this year’s G20 in Toronto, Canada, including his arrest and imprisonment for breaking a law that never existed.

Written by Dan Dicks
On Thursday June 24 I was joined by Charlie Veitch of The Love Police in downtown Toronto to document the G20 summit. This is Charlie’s first time in Canada so we took him on a Toronto G20 tour. While using his megaphone to inform the people of Toronto about G20 related issues we were surrounded by police who demanded our identification. When Charlie stated that he wishes to remain anonymous he was immediately detained and placed under arrest. The officer stated that Charlie was being detained under the “public works protection act” for failing to identify himself. Meanwhile Luke Rudkowski was detained at the Canadian border and denied access into the country. He has been targeted by the Canadian government because of his work with and Charlie and Luke are true patriots whose tireless efforts have inspired truth seekers worldwide. I am ashamed of the Canadian government and their treatment of these law abiding citizens whose only intentions were to educate the masses and to voice their displeasure about the G20 summit. To learn more about the works of Luke Rudkowski and Charlie Veitch visit

Hours after Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair sat in front of a bank of cameras and microphones last Friday morning, defending the powers the province gave police to search, detain or arrest anyone coming within five metres of the G20 summit’s security fence, Toronto police received new information: The regulation specified nothing of the sort.

But police, having papered the area with pamphlets outlining G20-related security rules, felt no need to send out a press release clarifying how the regulation in question worked.  Read more…

Obama’s Summer of Misery and Hardship Tour Hits the Road

Kurt Nimmo
July 10, 2010

Let’s put Lindsay Lohan’s fear of jail aside for a moment and turn to Obama’s Summer Recovery Tour 2010. Obama’s apparatchiks “will fan out across the country over the next few days to spread the message to voters about how effective their $787 billion recovery plan has been,” The Hill reported earlier this week. “Obama and the White House take comfort the economy is moving in the right direction. They point out that the economy has added jobs in six of the last seven months and stress that when Obama took office the economy was losing 750,000 jobs a month.”

Like Hoover in 1932, Obama tells workers “Prosperity is just around the corner.”

Has it really? Less than a month ago Joe Bite Me said jobs have gone away and they are never coming back. Biden said “there’s no possibility to restore 8 million jobs lost in the Great Recession” and folks should get used to it. “We inherited a godawful mess,” he said and glibly added that there was “no way to regenerate $3 trillion that was lost. Not misplaced, lost.”

It wasn’t lost and Joe knows it. It was stolen. Trillions went directly to the banksters. They defiantly refused to tell Congress and the American people where it all went. In December of 2008, as the engineered Greatest Depression was gaining steam, the Federal Reserve refused a request by Bloomberg News to disclose the recipients of more than $2 trillion of “emergency loans” billed to future generations of American debt slaves.

In July of 2009, Fed mob boss Ben “Helicopter” Bernanke was grilled about this money disappearing act by Congressman Alan Grayson. Asked which European financial institutions received the money, which was handed out by The Federal Open Market Committee, a component of the Federal Reserve System, Bernanke responded, “I don’t know.”

Ben and Bite Me know where they money went. Well, maybe Bite Me doesn’t but Helicopter Ben sure does. It went into a black hole owned and operated by international bankers.

BP Investigation Blocked By Senate

The senate blocks investigation of BP.

The House voted 420 to 1 to give the presidential commission investigating the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico full subpoena power.

The Senate blocked it.

No subpoena powers. No real investigation.

Breaking: Gov. Schwarzenegger Signs Landmark Egg Bill

I just got the very exciting news from California that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed A.B. 1437, a bill backed by The Humane Society of the United States that requires that starting in 2015 all shell (whole) eggs sold in California must come from hens who were able to stand up, lie down, turn around, and fully extend their limbs without touching one another or the sides of an enclosure. In other words: California will become a cage-free state.

Proposition 2, approved by voters in November 2008, phases out the extreme confinement of laying hens in cages by 2015. A.B. 1437 applies the standards contained within Prop 2 to the sale of shell eggs. With 40 million consumers in California, it would be hard to overestimate the potential of this bill to change the way laying hens are treated throughout the United States.

This victory comes just days after The HSUS brokered a deal with Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and the state’s largest agriculture groups to impose a moratorium on new battery cage facilities in Ohio, the nation’s second largest egg production state.

Change for animals subjected to intensive confinement is coming, and the victories this week are plain evidence of that.  Read more…

For 75 days now, crude oil has been gushing into the Gulf of Mexico from the wreck of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig. While BP and the US government have done everything possible to downplay and obscure the amount of oil that has spilled out, estimates range as high as 150,000,000 to 200,000,000 gallons. The consequences will be incalculable.

The BP spill is one of the worst ecological catastrophes in history, and yet now it barely makes the front pages of the newspapers in the US or rates prominent coverage on television news programs. There is a natural nervousness in the media and the political establishment, as the ongoing horror story indicts a huge conglomerate and the political interests in Washington that protect it.

It seems clear that the announcement June 16 that BP would create a $20 billion fund, followed the next day by Chief Executive Tony Hayward’s appearance before Congress, was meant to signal the end of the officially-sponsored chastisement of the company, and the US media has responded accordingly. As Reuters commented July 1: “The British energy giant drew harsh criticism earlier in the crisis, but some of the political heat has cooled since President Barack Obama pressured the company to set up a $20 billion fund for damages and lawmakers hammered BP executives at congressional hearings.”

The fund, in fact, would cover only a fraction of the eventual cost of the spill, and Kenneth Feinberg, appointed by the Obama administration to oversee the $20 billion, has made clear his intention to severely limit eligibility. The Miami Herald reports that when it comes to compensation, business owners and others continue to complain that BP is “nickel and diming” them.

In regard to the impact of the spill on the human population and on wildlife in the region, the news simply gets worse and worse.

– The proximity of Hurricane Alex slowed down or suspended clean-up operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Hundreds of oil skimmers were docked and were expected to remain so on Friday. The Coast Guard’s Admiral Thad Allen noted, “The seas that were over 5 feet hindered the effectiveness of most boats used to scoop oil. All but the largest boats will likely be idled until this weekend.”

The storm has also delayed by about six days the hookup of another containment vessel, which is eventually expected to be capable of capturing about 20,000 to 25,000 barrels of oil a day.  Read more…
